The violence may have ceased, and the streets may be clear, but the scars left on our communities are far from healed. This month, I explore some of the actions we can take.
Thanks Lucy and I agree. It feels very 'normal' right now but communities have been left reeling and that impacts how we move through the world and at work. Employers have a responsibility to see that and respond. Thanks again for taking the time to comment 🙏🏾
Sense language does matter, I am disappointed that most articles addressing the issue don’t include the catalyst. Russian cyber chip agitprop accounts on social media. No doubt hundreds of thousands of them on this platform. I’m positive we can do better.
Thanks for taking the time to comment and I share your positivity for the future. I wasn't 100% sure what you meant by "sense language" - please do let me know if you see this. On the point regarding the catalyst; I agree that a lot of the commentary has been surface level including my own. From my perspective, I'm still processing what happened whilst trying to navigate the aftermath by providing guidance. That said, a full analysis is required.
Good tips. Watching this from Canada was horrifying, and it's disturbing to think something like this could happen anywhere. All western nations should pay attention and implement your suggestions.
Thanks for taking the time to comment 🙏🏾 and I agree that all nations in the global north should be paying attention. It can be so easy to dismiss things when they occur elsewhere. I'm guilty of that myself with the USA, who knew a few days later all hell would break loose here. On a positive note - I'm glad the guidance was useful :)
Thanks for the employer tips. Easy for orgs to push this into a corner but we need to create safe spaces to allow discourse and sharing.
